Five Evenings
Alexander Volodin

This isn’t a stage production about wholesome poster people of the Soviet times, this is a stage production about people as such… How much has to be overcome, so that you could soar, even when covered by scabs and imprints of your own existence, and then return to yourself through the simplicity and clarity of love.

  • Prizes
  • nominee of the Golden Mask Prize in the “Drama/Best Small Scale Production” category, 2012
  • Viktor Ryzhakov was nominted for the Golden Mask Prize in the “Drama/Best Director” category, 2012
  • Polina Agureeva was nominated for the Golden Mask Prize in the “Drama/Best Actress” category for her role of Tamara, 2012

…This stage production is completely unlike the iconic Soviet film directed by Nikita Mikhailkov and other well-known productions of this play, but it’s also completely unlike other stage productions of the Pyotr Fomenko Workshop Theater, with no customary psychological lacework and soft charm…
This stage production is, first of all, very ritualistic, and second — completely eccentric. And the principal eccentrics here are the women.
Dina Goder, Moscow News
