Actor at the Studio of Theatrical Art (STI) theater, led by Sergey Zhenovach.

He studied at the Novosibirsk Theater School. Starting in 1998, he performed in productions at the Novosibirsk City Drama Theater under the direction of S. Afanasyev; his roles included the Fool in *King Lear* and the young Zilov in *Duck Hunting*.

In 2005, he graduated from the Directing Department of RATI-GITIS (acting stream, S. V. Zhenovach’s workshop). That same year, the Studio of Theatrical Art theater was formed from this graduating class under the leadership of Sergey Zhenovach, and Alexey Vertkov became one of its leading actors.
