About love (5 pounds of love, 22 misfortunes, 33 stories)
Anton Chekhov

An appeal to Chekhov is always a conversation about man, about the meaning of life, and almost always about love.

Love as inner depth or as a barren empty flower?
As a desire to find one's higher self or as a tragedy of a life's blunder?
Why do Chekhov's “five pounds of love“ ruin the lives of literally all of his characters?
They all „love past the point.” All with their love in some kind of discrepancy.
Is this vaudeville or drama? Comedy or tragedy?
What is true and where to look for “another dimension”?

We were looking for an answer to these questions.

The performance — This is an attempt at a dialogue with Chekhov, not with any specific play or story, but with his complex, profound worldview, his reflections on the eternal.

Let the viewer decide for himself whether to laugh or be sad, to condemn the characters or understand, to perceive their actions as a tragicomedy or to be afraid that this is not only the genre of the performance, but also our life.
